Questions
What people want to know before booking
Working by video
What do I need for a video meeting?
A phone or a laptop with a camera, and somewhere private for an hour. We send a link; there's nothing to install.
How do I sign papers?
Most are signed electronically. Some court papers need a notary; we'll arrange a remote notary or tell you where to find one nearby.
Will I ever have to go to court?
Most agreed cases end without a hearing. If the judge wants one, many courts allow it by video. If yours doesn't, one of us goes with you.
Fees
Are the fees really flat?
Yes, for everything the package lists. Filing fees and anything outside the package are separate, and anything extra is quoted in writing first.
Can I pay in parts?
Every package is split into two or three payments tied to steps in the case.
Your case
What cases don't you take?
Contested custody trials, cases where someone's safety is at risk, adoption and anything outside family law. We'll give you names of lawyers who take them.
Can my spouse and I share one lawyer?
No. We represent one of you. Your spouse can read every draft and have their own lawyer review it.
Does it matter where in the state I live?
No. We work with clients in every county, and the fee is the same everywhere.
