Fee questions, answered plainly

How is my fee set?

By the package that fits your case. On the free call we ask whether there are minor children and what you own, tell you which package applies, and put the fee in the engagement letter before you pay anything.

When do I pay?

Each package is split into two or three payments tied to steps in the case: usually the first when you sign, the last before filing. The engagement letter lists the dates.

What if the case turns contested?

We stop and tell you. If you want us to keep going, we quote the next stage in writing first. If it needs a trial lawyer, we'll refer you and refund the work we haven't done.

Is the first call really free?

Yes. Twenty minutes by video, to see whether your case fits a package. Advice on your specific situation starts once you've signed.

Do you charge by the hour for anything?

Only for work outside a package, like a retirement-split order or a hearing, and only after you approve a written quote.

Unsure which package is yours?

Book the free call. We'll tell you which one, or that none of them does.
